This glossary is a collection of terms (and their meanings) heard frequently in the daily life of the Controller's Office. Some are specialized, others are more commonplace - and our intent in compiling them is to help MIT staff, faculty, and students conduct their Controller's Office business more effectively.
At MIT, this is the office responsible for maintaining a specific type of source document such as a packing list.
The Office of Naval Research (ONR) is a research sponsor that conducts audits of MIT procurement practices every three years. These audits, called CPSR (Contractors Purchasing System Review), ensure sound business practices regarding Procurement Management and Administration.
