Dear all,
The organizational changes for MIT’s financial functions started this summer with the announcement of an integrative VP for Finance position. An effort to integrate the Controller’s Accounting Office, Office of Budget Operations, Office of Finance and Treasury into one organization has followed. The staff in these areas has continued to serve MIT superbly during this period of organizational change as we gear up to welcome several new members to the VPF organization.
First, a Senior Director will be hired for our external customer service and communications efforts as well as a newly created Director of HR will focus on the internal staffing and development needs. Second, the Budget, Finance, and Treasury functions will be consolidated under an expanded Director of Finance position. Finally, the Controller’s Accounting Office function has been split into a few different areas to improve our focus, service and build upon existing capabilities.
Here is the new organizational chart and the December 11, 2007 Brown Bag Lunch presentation, for those who were unable to attend:
I am also very pleased to announce that Gillian Emmons, current Associate Controller, has accepted the opportunity to be the new Director of Accounting Services and Controller.
